.........Cameron earns 150k, yet some others get 200k+, doesn't seem right to me, the leader of our country should also be the highest earner

But, since leaving office, Tony Blair has earned more than £20 million.

And Gordon Brown ... the biggest Prime Ministerial failure of our generation ...

... now charges £200,000 a time to appear and speak at dinners.

So the job has its perks.
I would pay not to have to listen to Gordon Brown
In theory, JJ. The question is whether people will pay what he asks. If they do, then perhaps not everybody rates him as low as you do. (I'd have said ' the biggest failure since the two preceding ones' myself.)
Me too.

Watching nim do his "goldfish mouth" after dinner would make me feel a bit queasy.
I would agree with jno.
You appear to be forgetting that some footballers earn that much in a week.

SB, I was commenting on the discrepancy between the leader of our country and some of his minions......wasn't comparing different professions
jno + Lofty ...

The 2 previous PMs both managed to win a election.

After 15 years during which Labourre-drew the electoral boundaries to try to favour themselves, Brown still got massacred.

And if there's still any doubt about how bad tha massacre really was, think about this ...

The Conservatives got 36% of the vote (but no majority).

In 2005, Labour also got 36% of the vote (yes!) and got a 66 seat absolute majority.

Had it not been for Labour's pathetic attempts to stay on power by re-drawing the boundaries, the Tories would now have an overall majority as big as Tony Blair's !

And THAT ... by Brown ... represents a failure.

ps. Brown says you are both bigots, and he's going to send the former Deputy Prime Minister round in one of his Jaguars to punch you in front of the paparazzi !
Ha ha, but Jayne we don't vote for Prime Ministers we vote for the Party.
Lofty ...

That supports my proposition ... not yours !
'the leader of our country should also be the highest earner'

Joe yes you did specify civil servants at first but your last line suggests all professions and there must be countless people , apart from footballers, who are in that position.
I was referring to this Jaye

"The 2 previous PMs both managed to win a election"

Prudie, perhaps my line should have read 'the leader of our country should also be the highest earning civil servant'
I didn't even vote for a party, I voted for a local representative (who won).

Fortunately for Cameron, he is a rich man. If he feels insufficiently rewarded he can (a) pad his expenses or (b) go back into PR.
