..........popular music played at funerals and cremations is just so out of place and at times tacky

A church is a place for hyms, not Robbie Williams 'Angels'

A work colleague once told me that his uncle requested and had Arthur Brown's 'Fire' played as his coffin passed through the curtain to be cremated

Totally out of order for such a solemn occasion, whatever next 'Firestarter' by The Prodigy?

A crematorium is not a church. My family can have whatever music they want.
Not everyone is Christian, not everyone will have a church ceremony. None of my departed family in the last five years have had Church funerals, they had different beliefs and ways to live their lives.
