time for a fresh start

i am being made redundant at the end of this week. it's not un expected and in my line of work seems to happen too often. point is has anyone made the transistion in to teaching/tutoring as one thing my industry needs is new talent. i'm a hgv mechanic by trade. i feel this would achieve two things, some pay back for whats been an enjoyable, reasonably well paid career; and an easier working life physically. the buzz i used to get from replacing a clutch in under two hours has faded in proportion to the increaseed aches and pains...

any ideas on where to start looking?

Contact your local college of further education.They should have details on relevant courses, and may even be a future employer as they provide vocational courses. They also have trained careers advisers.NVQ  assessors and trainer/instructors are needed in so many fields now. Go for it and good luck
