Why do heroin addicts tend to be extremely skinny?

Is this a direct or indirect effect of the drug?

I would say that it is such an addictive drug that they simply do not eat as money would be better spent for them on a ten bag.

However heroin does increase the metabolism somewhat. Do not even consider it as a form of diet tho!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I suppose the only addicts you see are the beggars on the streets. Heroin is still a designer drug in many walks of life (Sherlock Holmes, Freud, Hitler, all are reported to have used opium based narcotics) Elton John has never been thin nor is Pete Doherty.

Ooooh, bitchy!!!
You do realise Sherlock Holmes was Fictional?

they dont eat.

You're right - I've never seen a fat addict.....

heroin also gives users a sense of warmth and well being to drowsiness and relaxed depending on the dosage, they may not feel the need to eat as they feel so good.
