Paying off your mortgage

I'm wanting to pay off my mortgage in advance can anyone tell me if you have to pay extra monies for paying for it before its usual time scale

it depends on your bank . But most banks will charge you a fee for paying off the mortgage early.  But it is worh it as you wont be paying years of interest on the loan.

My aunt just paid her mortgage off with some money she had inherited. I think the fee was a couple of hundred which she was very pleased about as she thought it was going to be more!
