If they were captured by Somali Pirates or Iranian gunboats there would be a huge outcry. But the fact that up to 28 Britons have been illegally detained in International waters by Israel means our Government is strangely silent.

Do you think that the majority of Government MPs who have received money for their election campaigns from the Jewish lobby accounts for the lack of an outcry?

I'm sure we will get access to them. What I would expect from my Government when British citizens have be attacked and illegally detained and held in a foreign prison, is some kind of condemnation of that rather than the fudging "It is regrettable people have died" but admonishing no one the crime.

# Hammas and Israel are *NOT* at war #
Hammass call it war , they have fired hundreds of rockets into Israel. They say they are holding the Israeli soldier as a Prisoner of War. They say they will fight until Israel is destroyed. When Israel demolished their settlements in Gaza and moved out Hammass turned it into an armed camp and started attacking Israeli towns along the border. So what do you call it if its not war ?
"Passengers" Gromit?? I'd say at best intefering busy body activists.
I gues that's how you'd've described the French resistance too? is it Geezer?
I'd call it an occupation modeller.

Israel today occupies large amounts of territory never given to them by the UN.

They continue to build settlements on it.

Palestinian elements are resisting - sometimes violently, sometimes peacefully.

Don't get on your high horse about violent resistance unless you want to tell us all about how the UK should have used non-violent resistance to the occupation of the Falklands
this, though satirical in intent, is maybe not too far off in its suggestion of co-dependency

Same ole same ole coming from your keyboards. It really is amazing just how many are still attempting to defend the actions of the Israelis. Let's just hope that, as stated in another thread, Mahmoud Ahmadinajad achieves his aim!!! We would all be a lot better off. Maybe Turkey will help him now that they are finally joining the ranks of the enlightened.
so you are joining with old dinnerjacket in wanting to erase israel then cugetit? right oh!
R1Geezer ...... Definitely. There is only one threat to world peace, in my opinion, and it is not Iran. Israel has always been a pain in the butt and should never have been set up in the first place. Balfour, you b@stard!!! hth
The fact is, if you believe in democracy, Hamas are the legitimate elected govt of Gaza

Whether the Israelis like to admit it or not, they are holding a country under siege.

The flotilla of aid was not in Israeli waters when they were boarded, they were 40 miles outside the exclusion zone. The boarding was an act of piracy. I quote the foreign minister here in Ireland when I say that the people 'captured' were in fact kidnapped. News reports last night quoted Israeli army commanders of admitting a gross over-reaction.

I support the right of Israel to exist and govern, but they are wrong, wrong, wrong here.
