looks like he's got the job for the world cup presneting, after the friendly on sunday i heard him say to Gareth Southgate something like, 'In my uninformed opinion' or something, why the hell is he doing the bloody job if he is uninformed on international soccer?????
You mean Adrian Chiles. I think his comment was an attempt at humour S he is very knowledgeable about footie. Can't believe mottie isn't commentating. He brought an instant excietment o England matches.
Chiles is a good presenter far better than ITV's previous anchorman Steve Rider
Motson has had his day and the new breed of commentators (especially Jon Champion and Peter Drury) get on my nerves with their rambling commentaries (Drury recently said a player had "circumvented" another - in other words had gone around him, and also that a team had "parity" - in other words they had equalised)......I yearn for the days when Brian Moore and Hugh Johns were on the mic
I agree dot he wasn't very entertaining on the One Show either, but he must be getting better pay to do this programme, He was Ok on the Money Programme, butI didn't know he was a soccer pundit as well.
Doesn't anyone keep up with the news? there have been threads and threads about Adrian Chiles moving to ITV. The BBC lost a good pundit because of their own stupidity, Giving the 'One Show' friday nights to Chris Evans, AC was not having that, & when ITV heard of it jumped in there PDQ
The rest is history now.
I'm with Jemisa on this. The Beeb have made a massive mistake in letting Chiles go. He's a great presenter, down to earth with a dry sense of humour and different from the usual crop of boring presenters. And as for Chris Evans!!!
But more to the point of this question. Adrian Chiles is extremely knowledgeable about football. As for his looks, well I couldn't care a jot.
As has been proven by the rush to sign AC with a suitably hefty eight-figure salary, he is an extremely popular presenter.
I have to say his carms are utterly lost on me, but then again I have been in the minority before - I actually used to think Michael Barrymore was in the running for one of the un-funniest men on television - an award held in perpetuity by Reg Varney.
