Can I fly out of an airport with an arrest warrant issued to me

Hello there and thank you for taking the time in reading this and thank you even more if you can help me out.

Im going on Holiday on the 15th of June 2010 to Majorca, Spain and im flying out from Glasgow Airport. I had an arrest warrant issued to me on Monday 31st of May 2010. I live in Dundee, Scotland and I work in Coventry, England and the warrant is for the Berwick area on the border between Scotland and England. So getting to Berwick is a logistical nightmare for me. The warrant is for a minor offence and im wondering if it would be flagged up as i checked in at the airport. As i will hand myself in to the Berwick police station after my holiday.

Id appreciate if someone an shed some light on this situation

dont be a numptie, regardless of this minor offence you should man up and get to Berwick. Forget the holiday, tell work its a family emergency if needs be.

I assume you went home had a few too many and did something rash? If so unfortunately you have to face the consequences

Your work will find out eventually, so its best to bite the bullet now. At least call the Berwick police today. While you wont be on Interpols most wanted, leaving the country for a week in the sun wont sit well when you go back.

i have spoken to my friend who is a probation officer and he says that it would defiantly be flagged up SORRY!!! XX

Exactly the same thing happened to a freind, minor offence, warrent for him in London. He was going to Ireland , and was nabbed at the airport.. GOOD LUCK

actually you might be better going to police before you go away at least you'll get bail,

Avoid the shipping lanes.

If it's minor and you have not any other problems before in surrenderiung to bail .. and it IS a minor offence, face the music. You will get bail and keep your passport, won't you!?

If it really was a minor offence you will be bailed straight after handing yourself in.
So you need to do it somehow, as has been said there will be a list of wanted people on computer at the airport and you will probably be arrested.
You could go to your local police station and ask what to do, they may contact Berwick for you.

thank you all for your help, i phoned the berwick magistrates court and they have told me to appear on thursday 10th june. The offence is that i got petrol in a berwick petrol station about 18 months ago and i left my wallet at my mums house in alnwick so the petrol station gave me 7 days to pay it and i never paid it. Pure stupidity. Thanks you all again and Hello there up in blair, dundee is dundee after all rain or sunshine lol

All sorted then, now you just have the problem of getting to Berwick and back. A lot better than turning up the airport and getting arrested so you miss the holiday.
