accident in supermarket car park

Was wondering if someone could please help.
Earlier on this evening, my sister was reversing her car into a parking space, when she bumped into another car.
She isnt disputing the fact she was in the wrong, the only damage was a cracked number plate,() which both parties agreed this was the only damage, on the other car, which she offered to pay for.
Anyway, she really couldnt have picked a worse person to crash into! at first the other lady accepted the money for the number plate, then declined it saying it was a matter of principal! ( was a very rude lady with a real chip on her shoulder). If i told you that they offered to fight us over it whilst 1: we are adults why would we want to?! And 2: we both had young children in the car.

A member of the public came over ( a driver by trade) who actually said the accident was both their faults, but the other lady refused to accept this and drove off, not leaving any contact or insurance details.

My sister has the reg of the other car, and also the member of the publics contact details incase they were needed.
Obviously we arent going to chase this matter , but my sister is now worried, as the other car had some small dents on the front which werent caused by this accident, that the other lady will try and make a claim through her insurance for these, although she didnt take my sisters details or even car reg.

Can anyone tell me, if the other lady now tries to dipsute what has happened, is she able to take this any further? ie go to the supermarket and ask for cctv etc, or try at a later date to contact her insurance company and try to claim for damages which never happened?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

your sister should report this to her insurance company, just for their records.. as you don't know what might come up.

Was there a notice on the wall relating to accidents on private property. I`d forget it, she`d need eye witnesses which you say she didn`t have anyway or take any particulars.

It seems rather curious that the 'lady' seemed agreeable at first and ready to take the money for the number plate, but then turned nasty and offered to fight! Are you sure you've told us all there is to the story c190? In any event, if she cleared off then she won't be taking it any further so your sister shouldn't worry.

This reminds me of an incident I saw some time ago in a local car park. Two cars had tried to get in the same space and the middle-aged woman driver of one car and her teenage daughter were out of their car remonstrating with the middle-aged woman in the other. Both ladies appeared eminently respectable and very smart and both reminded me of my church-going mother who never uttered a bad word in her life. They were speaking quietly when I approached but then the first woman reached in the car and grabbed the second by the hair! She let out a scream and got out of her car and then the two started scrapping with the second woman hanging on to her hair assisted by her daughter. Hair was being pulled, nails were clawing, heels were lashing - all accompanied by screams and profanities!
The whole thing went on for a few minutes before two police turned up to stop it. By that time I was one of about two dozen chaps standing around with big grins and arms folded! We begged the police not to stop them - but they wouldn't listen and told us to go away. That was a good day!

At least your sister didn't take up the offer!
