Passport Office at Durham, anyone been?
As you will see from my previous questions I have had a crisis with daughter's passport and we have to go on Wed to get a new one with the extortionate 1 day service. So we have no idea where exactly it is and where we would park etc. Also any ideas on what we could do in the immediate area while we wait the 4hrs for the passport would be great too! We will have a baby and our 5yr with us!

The cathedral and castle are wonderful but I don't know if babies care much for that sort of thing

dont know where you are coming from but Durham has an excellent park and ride which will drop you close to Passport office. Plenty to do in Durham for four hours and alavahalf Durham is a city, not a town. Take a stroll by the river if its fine or go up to the castle and cathedral. Dont worry 4 hours is not long enough
Sorry alex I stand corrected... spent a year there some time ago ... it was so small I never thought of it as being a city.
Do you go as far back as Roger Whittaker ... he only went and got it wrong with that song of his.... I'm gonna leave Old Durham Town...It should have been ...I'm gonna leave old Durham City .... although when you hum it ... it does'nt quite have the same ring to it......;-)
