I suppose that's what I'm doing really: if I don't see it, it doesn't exist. I cannot bring myself to click on any links that portray the suffering of the wildlife caused by the BP disaster. Obviously, I realize that it is happening; but, as an animal lover I think I would be in tears if I were to see it. Anyone else feel the same way?
i think its rich that an ab from across the pond can come on here and sob over a disaster his country were guilty of!!! then to have the f.cheek to say oh i´ve got to fill up my gas(petrol) tank up. every1 knows the usa are the greediest gas guzzzlers on the planet. remember the tokyo summit, when the Snag bush refused to sign up!! oh i´m sure he´s a nice bloke. i could go on. but whats the point. the world is doomed, and its all our own fault
It doesn't matter where stewey lives .We've had oil spills here in the UK
It's all the same .His country is no more gulty than we are .
Remember the Torrey Canyon off Cornwall ? All the poor birds covered in oil .
The point is ....it's no good crying over spilt milk that is of own making wherever we live in the world .
These things happen unfortunately and burying your head in the sand won't make it go away however upsetting it is.
This is the price we pay for the material things we want and all the crying in the world is never going to solve that problem ,at least not in my lifetime .
Well, things have certainly gone off on a bit of a tangent; but, that's one of the interesting things about AB isn't it? The premise of my original post was that I really hate to see animals suffering for whatever cause, but especially when the proximate cause is a man-made catastrophic accident. And that was my sole point.
And your point is quite right stewey..but " man made disaster " is the operative phrase.
I think we all ,as human beings ,hate to see suffering in any shape or form and we wouldn't be human if we didn't , but we started it in the first place.
If it wasn't for us humans and our huge footprints trampling all over the shop the world would be a better place :))
It seems to me, PN, that you previously stated that the US were the biggest gas(petrol) users, and now you're pontificating that we Canadians are. We are only about 30 million; they, the states are about 250 million......some math!
