I bought a birthday card, fairly innocuous, for my sister in law's partner - he was 30 last year so had a big bash and I got him a "30" card then, so I suppose this year's card just says Happy Birthday and has some candles on the front. Him Indoors told me the card was really boring. I buy all the cards in our House (he has never yet bought me a birthday card) and I was just wondering, who else buys cards for in-laws and why am I getting stick over it?

How wuld he know whether a card is boring or not? Send him shopping, that'll shut him up.
lol the year my first husband and I split up his mother complained to me 'cos he hadn't sent her a birthday card.....
I gave up at a very young age. My family is just too big.
A friend of mine was given the "Family card list", along with present preferences, by her M in Law when she was getting married.
M in law was not impressed when my friend made a point of passing it on to her husband to be.
His M had bought cards for him to sign his name on, ready addressed, all the time he was away from home, at Uni etc, she would send parcels every few months!.
