my son was attacked whilst he worked in a bar. He has been charged with gbh 18 as he hit someone with a glass on the head whilst defending himself. We are so worried but dont know what to do

we have a solicitor now and have been very clear from the beginning it was self defence. How can someone who is going about their job be attacked and end up charged. Do you think his employer could have done anythig to help? what about duty of care? It was a late licence so it was abvious there was goiing to be drunk people about. Should they have had security? They have washed their hands and walked away bit this is so unfair!
