Me & my other half stumbled upon a 60's 70's music quiz at our nearly local pub last nite, being both 41 we knew we were throwing our 50p entry away, but thought we'd see how bad we were. Half way through some older men who he knows came and sat near us, and helped us out. (tut tut) One of them before they left to move onto the next pub, told us the answer was Bee Bumble & the Stingers. Can't remember the question, But he seemed so sure we put it, it was wrong, but I don't think he made the name up. Or did he? does anyone know if there was such a band as Bee Bumble & the Stingers?

B. (not Bee) Bumble & The Stingers did exist, yes. They were true one hit wonders who had a number one hit in 1962 with an instrumental called Nut Rocker. Apart from the same track hitting the Top 20 again when re-issued ten years later, it was their only appearance in the UK charts.
They had an album of 16 tracks that included:- "Bumble Boogie", based on Rimsky-Korsakov's "The Flight of the Bumble Bee,"
