suspension
recently my mum was suspended on "full pay" because of misconduct. In the proceeding meetings to discuss the misconduct she was told she was still on full pay. She was eventually found guilty of misconduct (very harsh). she was suspended for 5 weeks and had over 2 weeks to come before she was suspended. She rung work and they have since said that 2 weeks basic wage are going to be paid. can anyone help?

Removing someone out of the business for another 5 weeks when misconduct is adjudged to have occurred sounds very odd to me. The 'penalty' is more normally a written warning. If they are going to do it (and I'm not saying they are acting reasonably), then I would expect any period of suspension to be on basic pay once again. They cannot normally 'lay off' a person in this manner without paying basic pay.
