50k a year for life for me would be fine, if you were guaranteed it you would probably be able to borrow as much as you wanted from a bank if need be

I'd go for the lump sum now so I could pay off the mortgage and the debts, and not have to worry about income at the moment. On the other hand my mother lived to nearly 94, so the other option might be better long term!

half a million would buy outright the house I was born in but it would cost thousands a year to run, but £50,000 a year and I could probably get a mortgage for it and still have the Cleveland Bay stud farm and wine cellar. (it has a hude cellar cut into the pennine rock).
Or 50K a year and I could go and see Garth every month in concert,
