Hep B Injections

I used to work in a care home for 18 months (all the residents suffered from dementia) and I didn't have the jabs. I always wore gloves whilst taking them to the toilet etc. A couple of the residents could be aggressive, but I always managed to move out of the way before being bitten or scratched.
Anyway, I am due to start working in another care home soon and think maybe I should have the jabs. How does it work? From what I understand, you have a jab and then you have to go back for a blood test to make sure you're immune? Thanks

I'm a bit nervous about bathing them and taking them to the toilet. I'm sure I'll be fine once I've done it though.
Oh right ummm, sounds like an interesting job, but frightening in my opinion (sorry).
Bedknobs - any idea how much? I would pay if I had to.

you can get it at ur docs, if you tell them where you work it shouldn't cost you. Best to have it done. Better safe than sorry!
Good luck with the new job. I have worked in a nursing home for 15 yrs, with both male and female. ts a very worthwhile job x

I work in a large dementia unit, to my knowledge none of the 20 odd staff has had these jabs!!
