Ambient Temperature Mazda 6

Hi The ambient temp gauge on my Mazda is hit and miss on sometimes and off other times Ideas please if it may be the button switch or the outside senson (wherever that is) and how to check either. thx

Impossible to tell without testing both.
You could find the outside sensor (probably behind front panel, or inside a front duct) and check the connection to it. Possible it is corroded.
Check it is transmitting with a hair dryer blowing over it.
