Well I have found a ring that I was telling you some time ago and it has been the ring I have liked on another person years ago. Anyway will be in the situation in November (my birthday) to buy it and I am feeling a little guilty. It is a lot of money for a ring in fact a lot of money for me to buy anything in my entire life. But the way I am justifying it I never married - so did not pay for a reception, did not have kids, so no christenings, communion and confirmation, and so on on on.
It is double thousands - just want to know what you Abers think of my extortionate spending.
Depends where you live in the uk if you live in a very deprived area with a high crime rate you might have concerns about wearing it but if its insured why worry...most of the uk is not that bad anyway,,, I am sure Sqad is not the first ex pat to give the impression he believes the entire country is overrun with feral youth and iilegal immigrant gangs.
I came from a pretty deprived background and my mum has always dreamed of owning a megarock if she came into the dosh she'd have one....and risk wearing it...
thanks mcfluff and to everybody for their wee opinions. It is absolutely beautiful (the ring) unfortunately it looks like an engagement ring so I will be engaged to myself hahahahaha - but I dont care. Bye all
I did an impulse buy a few years back. You see I never had an engagement ring, just a wedding band and through 25 years my finger always looked naked to me. I had the kids and all the things that go with them couldn't afford to splash out.
Then my aunt died & left me £2.000 I was thinking of treating the kids ect something for the house? - - Then I was at an antique Fair and I saw this gorgeous antique solitair diamond ring and fell in love, I tried it on & it fitted (an omen) so I bought it there and then. I've never regreted it and people to this day still comment on the ring.
Not at all,, Just invest in the insurance as well.... I used to walk through Brixton wearing a couple of antique rings and a pendant that werew worth a fair bit,, never had any problems,, lost them in a burglary didn't replace them wish now I had
buy it! I blew some cash on diamond earrings years ago. I've worn them every day since (even in The Bronx, London), and love them as much as I did when I bought them.
