Not so sure about suppressing the appetite, but I know it's supposed to stop the cravings for sweet things. Good if you've got a sweet tooth.

Agree with squiggle - when I was trying to lose weight and felt like chocolate, I took diet vanilla coke and it seemed to take away the craving.
