Publish and be Damned.

I have had 2 questions removed from AB. One was because it had been duplicated and the other was possibly too contentious; if that's the correct word.( perhaps the word is contagious because it would have infected others with my complaint.) Furthermore, for unknown reasons, I have had 13 answers taken out.
It is my view that respondents/correspondents and all other ABers should be made aware of the reasons for the non publication of printed submissions to AB. I wouldn't mind if any of my communications are removed and it is published along the lines of......"vivandorron--Answer removed--Offensive" or "Question removed--Obscene" etc.
You may agree that, if we all knew the reasons for items being removed, all ABers would have an indication of the type of individuals who are corresponding in the columns of AB.

I've had two questions removed also, but I can remember both the questions and I know why they got removed without having to be told.

Maybe things have changed since the techies revamped the site but Chuck's answer wasn't correct in the past. I've posted several times in threads, which have later been removed, without my 'removed' count going up.
However I do know that double-clicking the 'Submit Answer' button (or clicking it a second time if nothing much seems to happen after an initial click) causes AB's system to regard it as a duplicated post, resulting in an addition 'removed answer' appearing on your count. (To the best of my knowledge, that accounts for all 28 of my removed answers - out of over 17,000 posts).

I've had answers removed when (fool) I have posted in an offensive thread and the whole thread's been pulled. On relfection if a poster is zapped on someone else's thread, then only their answers remain. The problem with removals (unless you have been removed because you were, as you say, contentious) is that if the OP is pulled, everything connected with it is, too.
I am able to understand all that's been said folks. However I am not bothered about my Questions and Answers being 'pulled' It's a matter of my wishing to establish the identities of those individuals who have responded and had their answers removed and a reason for such. I then think I and other ABers would be better equipped to deal with them in the future; with perhaps an element of caution.
