brakes clicking
every time i brake, i hear a click...
it is coming from outside...as i can only hear it when the windows open...its a appears to be coming from just under the drivers area
its kind of a metal sounding clunk, about halfway through the pressing down
a friend who was a mechanic many years ago, took the wheel off, and checked it, said it was all fine...and also said my brake pads were fine too, but didnt know what was wrong with it..
any ideas? the brakes actually work fine.
thanks

The cause has always been loose pads in the caliper which 'click' each time the pistons come into contact with them on application of the brake pedal. It's usually the fault of 'after-market' or non manufacturer's pads being fitted. As far as I am aware there is nothing to worry about - only the annoyance factor. A free brake check ( Kwil-Fit ?) may be worthwhile.
Good luck.
