Evening wedding party

To what extent would you "dress up" for an evening wedding party? Having not been invited to the wedding itself, would it be acceptable to turn up in jeans (with a dressy top), or would you still glam up?

it depends where it's being held, jb.. local social club? maybe jeans are okay.. but I wouldn't.

Its in a golf club. I was gonna dress up but then my friend said she was wearing jeans so I was wondering whether Id look OTT considering we werent invited to the day

I would dress smart casual, that's what people did who came to our evening do. Most of the all-day guests were still in their daytime finery, I would have felt underdressed in jeans if it were me.

there will be people who've been at the wedding. I think you'll look under-dressed, but if you're happy in smart jeans I'm sure it'll be fine.
