can someone explain what is heart bypass surgery in simple terms and how can you have double or triple?

So they get an extra bit of tube - usually by taking it out of the leg - and stitch it in next to the heart, so that the blood has an alternative path to go past where the blockage is. A double (or triple) bypass is simply where they do two (or three) of the same thing, because it is clogged up in more than one place.
