Ive been trying to lose some weight for my sisters 70th birthday party in 2 WEEKS TIME !!! but havnt lost much ,so now Ive got to really be strict for the next 2 weeks. My failings are chocolate and cakes. I dont eat big meals but eat quite healthily apart from these addictions. Where I work, they make all their own cakes which are gorgeous so its going to be hard to resist but Ive got to be strong at least for these next 2 weeks and hopefully afterwards.
Anyone else got any suggestions for instant weight loss, apart from chopping my legs off

Thanks Bobbi. I do eat healthy most of the time as Ive said.,but I just cant resist choc. I love swimming but until I lose some weight, I feel awful about going so its a viscious circle. I do sometimes go to the gym at our local college but tying it in with the hours I work is difficult, so Im just gonna have to BE STRONG enough these next two weeks to at least resist these goodies and see if they make a difference even in a short space of time
Go power walking!

Start out gently then build up speed, time and distance.

Make low cal ice lollies for this hot weather and there's loads of fruits
about at this time of the year.
walking is good too, pop your ipod/mp3 player on and it does wonders, brisk walk to your favourite music..Good Luck

Thanks to you both. I will be setting off for work shortly and I do cycle there about 2 miles and its all uphill, perhaps instead of cycling downhill on my way home tonight, I could walk with my bike
Two weeks isn't long, just do your best.Enjoy the party.
Buy yourself some very dark chocolate (70% cocoa solids or higher). The higher the chocolate content, the less 'other' stuff (ie fat and sugar!) there is. When you feel like some, just break off a single square and nibble it. You'll get your choccy fix without feeling deprived, and you're not doing TOO much harm! I always want chocolate if I don't have it around, but knowing I can just get it anytime means I crave it less. Also, OH and kids don't particularly like dark chocolate!!! Good luck!
