The prizes on The Generation Game weren't anything to write home about. 3-2-1 was so bad it was almost compulsive viewing
I think Bullseye achieved some sort of status among students some time ago Jim's super smashing words were gems.
I can't think of a favourite but my parents were obsessed with 3-2-1 dusty bin (can't remember the proper name, 3-2-1??). Glued to the set they were and it was a craze to try and do the finger thing.
Sale of the Century with Nick Parsons saying "Lets have a look at what you could have won" or was that Jim Bowen in Bullseye. It was a long time ago.
"pushing the boat out" being the suitable description, wasnt it usually a speedboat?!
Blankety Blank was dire but I liked to watch it.
What about THe Golden Shot with Bob Monkhouse? To win the contestant guided 'Bernie the Bolt' to aim at the target with a crossbow

i remember the golden shot sandy do you remember anne aston??? lol @ jb...
She was 'eye candy', but an intelligent woman too. Same as the young women on Brucie's show,'come on dollies do your dealing'.
From Norwich it's the quiz of the week.

Sale of the century
It is the high end prizes that has killed off game shows. It became unaffordable and killed the fun element. People will make a prat of themselves and enjoy the show for the chance of winning some weird and wacky prize - the blankety blank cheque book and pen! - but when a million squid is at stake, it all gets very intense.
