harvesting radish seeds...

I've got a couple of trays of radish in my greenhouse, I went away for a week (trusting them to my dad's version of TLC) I came back and found they'd all shot up about a metre and were flowering. As they were obviously past their best I decided just to let them pod and get the seeds to start again. I'm now at the point where I've got a couple of dozen plants, all with about 40-50 pods on them, each pod containing about 6-8 seeds, but at what point are they ready to collect? Do I let them dry out on the plant, or should I be doing something more proactive??

f they are not in your way let them dry out on the plants, if you want the trat space get some paper bags,, cut the stems and put them seed heads down in the paper bags tie round thetop with a bit of string and hang them up in a warm dry spot,, the seeds will fall into the bags don't use plastic or you will just get a mouldy mess

The previous answer was more than adequate but just realize that alot of radish variteies (at least here in the U.S.) are hybridized (cross-bred) so your seeds may not grow and if they do there's a chance they won't produce what you expected...

thanks for that, I'm ok for space so I'll probably leave them. I'm not sure what breed they are but I thought I'd give them a try and see what happens :-)
