Hi all, the dreadful drama of ten days ago is past, Lady is still a bit skinny but otherwise back on form and back on duty - an amazing saga to have witnessed, even if only on webcam. The chicks are huge - they should fly within the next couple of weeks, but will still use the nest as a base for some time yet while they learn to fly and fish for themselves. There are two webcams still - main on http://www.thewebbroa...ation.com/swt/swt.php
and a secondary fixed (but wobbly) one on http://www.thewebbroa...tion.com/swt/swt2.php The second one gives lovely side-on views of the nest - you can see the lttle heads bobbing about from time to time, and Lady sitting majestically on the perch branch.

OK - not as often as at the height of the crisis, but still several times a day. I even visited the Loch of the Lowes on Friday for 3 hours. Much better in the flesh and the large-screen high-definition display in the visitor's centre is awesome (some visitors were actually photographing that!).

Isn't is, lslowry, you beat me to posting - all four in the nest, eating their fish, lovely sight!
Today's blog was great too, very humbling - it made me realise that it was in fact quite unusual for the male brd to have fed the chicks so well when his mate was lying so still and ill. Look at them now!

Well one of the osplots has just entertained me with an extending flapping of his wings whilst jumping up and down on both feet - it is looking more exciting all the while. I am fervently hoping that the long range profile camera on the hide will be operational to capture the moment of Wilbur's and Orvil's first flight
