I did ask my daughter if she would call any daughter she had 'Fanny'. She just gave me 'that look'..... and sighed.
I know an Archie, Alfie and a Sidney. One of my step-granddaughters is called Constance. I know a Maisie, Martha and, unfortunately for her, a Gladys (a newborn baby called Gladys????!!!! - It grows on you, honest!)

She was usually called Do (or Doh !). She loved a slug of whiskey, tried to smoke occasionally but never got the hang of inhaling. She let us be naughty rather than having to mind our p's and q's - and she boasted to anyone who would listen that she was bisexual (she meant ambidextrous).
I aim to be just like her when I'm old....
