stomach ulcer?

hope this dose not sound like a daft question can you die of a stomach ulcer? cheer.s, and what is the cause of them.cheers.

You cannot die of the ulcer itself, but you may die of its complications:

1)Bleeding..............may need urgent treatment and could be life threatening.
2)Perforation...........same as above
3)Penetration.....into other organs e.g pancreas
4)Obstruction.........same as above.

You do mean a benign stomach ulcer?

Stomach ulcers can also become malignant.So the answer is yes you can die of a stomach ulcer. A high percentage of both ulcers is caused by the bacterium Helicobacter Pylori other cause are injury to the mucosal lining, excess secretion of hydrochloric acid, genetic predisposition, stress, use of anti-inflammatory medication asprin etc. and smoking.
