As lidlicker says Jessie Wallace is to play Pat Phoenix in a BBC Four drama about the early days of starting Corrie, she isn't going to be in Corrie itself.

I saw Pat Pheonix in about 1965 when she cut the ribbon of the co-op opening in Old Skem, she had a fur coat on and was really glamorous.

I dont watch EE or Corrie any more, load of cr@p but this programme about the early days of Corrie should be good.

It's a programme being made to celebrate Corries 50th year.............to be shown on BBC 4 (!?!) apparently.
