I like the fact it states in the deed pool FAQ that you can't change your name to anything unpronounceable.

Chuck, people have trouble pronouncing Sara. perhaps I should change it...

You will find that deed poll is the most expensive way of formally changing your name and ist always needed. You could do a statutory declaration which is far cheeper.
