Unable to intialize wave output...

im into online head to head games like counter-strike and everytime i connect to a game the server says 'unable to intialize wave output microphone will not work', but my mic works on sound recorder and yahoo messenger and not msn messenger, how can fix this? can somebody help me

The first thing to try would be the actual Voice communication setup that comes with Counter Strike/TFC (Should be in ... Start > Programs > Sierra > Voice Setup), and make sure all the setting are correct.

As unlikely as it might be, have you tried another mic.
Is it just Counter-Strike it doesn't work with or are there other on-line games is doesn't work with?
It might be worth while re-installing Counter-Strike or whichever game it's not working with (might help!).
May be a computability issue - but not entirely sure. Sorry I can't be of any better help. 8-(

i reinstalled it and the microphone works on everything,even on the game, i know this because when i press the talk button the speaker comes up, except one thing when the server loads now, it says 'invallid tracker dll not loading' lol do you know how to fix that?

Possibility 1
You might need to download an extra mods/maps from the server you are trying to connect to. See if they have a web site and then try to download all necessary files. Also I assume you have run all Counter-Strike updates.

yes i have all the updates, and my mic worked in one server for a brief period =) do you play cs or any of the half life mods?

The tracker.dll issue isn't supposed to stop you playing. Some people have suggested going to the cl_dlls folder in Valve directory and renaming the GameIU.dll to GameIU.bak. See these links for info:

I play TFC a fair bit, usually on the http:///www.halflifemapping.com server or any server playing the Freefall4 map.
