My friend and I are going to travel around Australia and New Zealand for approx 12 weeks. We are not sure how to set our budget for day to day living - can anyone give me an idea of what to set aside for hostels, cheap eating etc. We are also trying to decide whether it would be best to buy a car or hire one - any thoughts please?
