Live links in posts

Is anyone else having problems placing active links in their posts? To be sure I was using the new anchor tags correctly, I copied and pasted the structure directly from the FAQ page. I replaced the address with the full URL and replaced the other text with my own. But sad to say :-( it didn't work. The URL was taken as a relative address instead of an absolute address and http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Science/ was added to the front of the URL causing the link to fail - just as it did for many people under the old system.
Well folks, anyone know what I am doing wrong?
PS, I have e-mailed AB about this.

We are sorry you've been experiencing problems. You've exposed a subtle error in the way the FAQ was put together.
The quotes that delimit the URL in the anchor tag are not the ASCII character they should be ("). Even though it appears to be correct, the anchor tag in the FAQ won't be parsed as proper HTML.
I've amended the FAQ so that if you follow the directions the links will be displayed correctly.
Apologies for the error.

Sorry about the bold. It was probably my error. In my question I intended the word 'full' to be in bold but instead of the close tag, I assume that I missed out the / character and therefore included a second bold tag in error.
I also tried to correct it with close tags in the 7th post in this thread and like kempie found they didn't work. I promise I'll try harder to get it right next time.

not necessarily gen2 - as I said, it seems to vary between different computer screens. I'm currently at home, and seeing bold. Anyway, what you put in your Q shouldn't affect what other people put in their answers. Sounds like a bug in the system to me. Why not post another Q asking AB Ed to look into it?
