i bodly predict it wont !

i am very sceptical,as basically the movie is about a big gorilla and is also a remake of one of the original hollywood classics.

it will get overhyped as it is a peter jackson film but it should be a good action movie tho

I bet a lot of people have not seen the classic, and would not even attempt to watch it.

I must admit I wonder if it could be the same without Fay Wray.

Although it wasn't a huge box office sucess, I can't see "Kong" being a better movie than "Hotel Rwanda" (my film of the year so far). I think "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" might surprise a lot of people and that (especially after seeing some of the reviews from the Edinburgh Film Festie) "Serenity" might be a dark horse.

That said, "Kong" will be fun.

But is it going to be a trilogy?

I think it will be a flop. Not a complete failure, just a dissapointment for all concerned. I base that on the fact that as an average cinema going punter I have no interest in it, because it's all been seen and done several times before. I don't care if it's by Peter Jackson, and stars the funny bloke out of 'school of rock' and has a fantastic CGI gorilla. As MattK say, it's still just a big gorilla.

My vote will go to Narnia out on December 9th....

I cant see it being the film of the year. Nothing can beat the original with Fay Wray. The 1976 remake starring Jessica Lange was pretty limp. I mean, what can Peter Jackson do to upbeat the original?
