Some of them are mine - I sell books on Amazon when I have read them and don't want to keep them.

I have sold plenty of "used" books on Amazon. It just means not brand new. The only drawback is that you can only list books that are already listed. It is easier than selling on ebay for this reason - no need to take pictures. You can see what other people are offering the same thing for and decide what you want. Amazon give you a set rate for the postage which is great if the thing is light but bad if it is heavy so it cuts into any profit.

I fell foul of that last week, grasscarp, wanted to sell a reference book but it wasn't in the Amazon portfolio - they suggested I paid £28 to upgrade to merchant status for that single book - yeah right, I was only going to charge £2 for it!

I knew about becoming a merchant seller, but didnt want to overwhelm mayennaise with the detail. It would only be worth it if you had loads of books that were not listed. Useless for one! In some of the other categories (not books) you cant always list things I have found even if they are there. My daughter does very well on Amazon and I sold an old book marked 12/6 the other day for £30 to Greece. Incidentally if you list you are willing to sell overseas you get enhanced postage if this happens.

Yes - thanks grasscarp, i usually list to all destinations, I don't mind! It's the same on eBay these days too though - top limits for postage for books in the UK but open for the rest of the world, and they've introduced postage ceilings on some other categories too. (sorry to digress, mayennaise...) I'm not a volume seller so am happy to toodle along, selling what I can - all helps make ends meet!
