monitor connection

I bought a used packard bell monitor model slimview s530, made in November 1999. The connection is really strange and will not fit into any computer. Has anyone maybe had this type of monitor or know of a way to connect it to my computer? The only suggestion so far has been to buy a cable costing £30 but they dont even know if its the right cable plus it costs more than the monitor. Its an old model so you would think you could buy a connection for it really cheap but nowhere seems to have heard of it before. Any help would be much appreciated.

It's a DVI connector. Here's a cheap option to convert it from your VGA output.

looked up at the website and its slightly different. On website from years ago it says its an XGA connection but no-one seems to know what this is.

i did some looking, one site said it was a DFP 20-pin

so unless your computer has DVI output, its going to be expensive

thanks I do have DVI output so should hopefully find the adaptor now. Thank you for all your help and it does explain why I was getting nowhere with the VGA connection.

DFP was not a widespread choice as a connector thus its relative rarity will probably translate into high expense when sourcing hardware.

A few sites list DVI to DFP Digital Monitor Adapter at around £10 and upwards (+ p&p) but not off-the-shelf (i.e. ordered on demand)...
