Dog Shooting

A neighbour of our's shot dead my two Neapolitan Mastiff Cattle Dog's that got lost during a bad snow storm in January. He called them over with a sheep whistle and shot them at point blank range. He then hid their bodies for ten day's. We searched everywhere, with this scum bag knowing i was out looking. When we was tipped off, and confronted him, he said they was worrying his sheep! We are Farmers ourselves, we would not be able to keep stock worriers, he knew this and shot them out of sheer enjoyment. Do not even mention the Police A TOTAL WASTE OF SPACE. He did not report the killings to the Police, there was no dead sheep to prove that they had been worrying and he knew who's dog's they were. Yet he hid their bodies trying to cover his tracks. When i got the waste of space and taxes involved (the Police) they said 'oh he was going to give you the bodies back really but he was waiting until the snow cleared to drop their bodies off on your farm!' The snow did not stop him going out hunting them. What would you do legally to get Justice?

why don't you get some legal advice? this obviously isn't going to go away.

I have taken Legal Advice. The Solicitors are saying that he should have been charged for Criminal Damage (as he cannot prove that they was worrying as he cannot prove due diligence ie reporting the worrying's to the Police, reporting the killing's of the dog's to the Police ) He cannot prove he had taken the advice of a Vet, he knew who's dog's they belonged to. If he did not want to approach me I am sure the Police would have done IF he had contacted them. BUT he did not, rather choosing to hid his crime as he could not justify the killings. I am looking for people who have been in a similar situation or know of people who have.

I feel so sorry for you,I hope you can get some satisfaction out of all this,I would be devastated if it happened to me and very angry,I wish you all you wish yourself.

You may have received good advice in the Law forum had the question text been printed there, or added soon after.

I think you have the legal advice you need though. Next step must be to get the criminal damage charge made though.

I'm so glad i don't live in the USA, this would be all over the papers in the UK, complete with public outcry, and even T.V coverage.

If of course the dogs were simply lost in the snow and were no threat, to live stock.

What planet are you on Donna? So 27082002 should go and kill innocent sheep in revenge? or risk the poison not killing the sheep and the sheep being used for meat and killing a human? What then?
