Osprey update - osplets nearly ready to go
10 Answers
Hi everyone, in case you are interested to see them fly, the osprey chicks in Scotland are expected to fledge any day now. They have started to practice parachuting in the nest - they are nearly as big as the parents now, the full nest is very crowded, they have started to hang off the edge instead of in the middle! Lady appears well recovered (albeit maybe not 100%) from her dreadful illness. Here's the link http://www.thewebbroa...ation.com/swt/swt.php - this goes to cam1 but you can also click on cam2 (when it's not on the squirrels) for a splendid side view.

I really thought one of the osplots was going to fledge - terrific flapping of wings and covering the nest from side to side with single hops. He was also on the edge of the nest looking down on the surrounding view and his head was moving rapidly from side to saide - something had caught his interest well. For now though, both chicks have settled down to an afternoon siesta. Myabe he is saving his first flight for the weekend when, hopefully, more people are watching (:-))
