does anyone know if it is possible to lay laminate flooring on top of parquet we have just bought a house where they have previously had parquet flooring in 2 rooms but have knocked a wall down between the two to make a bigger room and now there is a strip of concrete between the 2 parquet floors.
Is it "proper" parquet Iggy? ............ rectangular blocks laid in bitumen (tar).
As Woofter says ........ for such a small amount it should be easy enough to match the blocks, then maybe sand/clean the rest to match the new............. even so, a slightly different band of colour struck through a floor can look interesting.........
Otherwise, for laminate, it would need to be seen to decide how to go about it......... you really need a good floorlayer to advise :o)
Yep. Infill.
Chop out concrete/cement and level up. Get a local joinery company cross-cut the new pieces to fit exactly, otherwise joints will be bad.
I would think there "could" be a level difference between the two sides. Check this first!
