One of my mates had a bet in last night's World Cup that there would be 12 or more corners in the Netherlands v Spain game. After 90 minutes there were 10 but after extra time there had been 14.
He started to screw his slip up but I said, "No, they should pay you out as you said the game and didn't say after 90 minutes". His slip said, "All bets subject to Stan James Rules". I looked at the Stan James website and couldn't see anywhere where it said "only 90 minutes play".
He is loathed to go in and claim. What do you think?
Most bets are covered for only 90 minutes unless specifically stated. But I would ask if not sure. If embarrassment is the problem select a quiet time ie just after opening or before closing. Alternatively an email to the head office for clarification.
Just to let you know that he went in and the girl behind the counter was very helpful and even phoned up head office for him but said, "unless stated on the betting slip, all football results are after 90 minutes plus injury time".
