He is appointing an official to investigate FaceBooks allowing over 20,000 nutcases to put up anti police messages and hailing Moat as a hero!
Good for you Cam,
This is not another Raoul Moat thread but a one showing the sad twisted element of today's society, I chose to post it here and not News, because it isn't News, it is sickos flexing their muscles!

Bobbi, are you advocating a degree of censorship?

Doesn't he have more pressing matters to be dealing with? He's meant to be running the country, not getting involved in what some morons have posted on a daft website - it's not like reasonable folk are suddenly going to get up in arms and take against the police after reading it. This is just a premeditated ploy by Cameron to get the 'decent people' back on his side - next week he'll be a guest judge on the X Factor.
Karen, I have just heard that he is in line to open the Ambridge fete, replacing Keir Hardie!
Just went on Facebook for the first time in ages. Never did really get it, but just now I found it <gulp> boring...?
David Cameron is an idiot who probably hasn't even seen or read the FB site dedicated to Moat. If he had he would have seen that the majority of it's members and posters actually joined to sl@g off the ones who supported Moat.
The photo of the 'shrine' to Moat in the DM has a few knuckle draggers standing around looking at a paltry pile of cheap petrol station bouquets.

you're always going to get the fors and against and I happen to be for anyone that will put a stop to this idiocy..
Quit right Daffy!
I had a look at the Moat thread and the vast majority were slagging off the murderer.
where did you get that story from, Bobbi? As far as I can see, he's just telling FaceBook he disapproves and FaceBook is telling him to take a hike.

I haven't got a lot of sympathy for Moat but I hope Cameron's not going to be following in Blair's footsteps, passing laws and setting up commissions and making personal appeals every time the tabloids get in a tizz. He should just concentrate on running the country, not complaining about people's bad taste.

seen it on the evening news jno, maybe I can concede it is wrong for his intervention but seeing the dregs on our local News North-east....shameful!
It`s a shame the police didn`t catch Moat earlier then none of this would have happened, 5 days of news coverage and then a six hour stand off.

Since the shooting of the policeman, the police stopped everyone in Newcastle built like a brick sh!thouse with a flat nose, no teeth and tattoos, it`s only when they narrowed their search to men only they located Moat
I'm not being funny with you honestly but David Cameron offering his 'hand wringing' disgust at a Facebook 'like' page is nowhere in the vicinity of 'good work' or anything close. We live in a democratic, free society where even idiots have a fair shot at voicing their opinions.....I personally seek out idiot opinions, read them fully, show them to my son (aged 12)....then explain the motives and possible diagnosis in some cases of people who are unable to grasp the sadness of a mentally ill man acting out a fantasy, kills and injures others until he cannot continue with his own life and commits suicide.
I hope the public purse could be used to better effect.
