What is the best and worst thing that happened to you today?

Best: I checked my lottery ticket and found I'd won.

Worst: I got caught in the rain coming home and my flip flops were veritable death traps with wet feet inside.

Best - two drinks at lunch time while-ing away the afternoon next to the canal
Worst - remembering I'm unemployed and have no money.. ohh Crap!!
That good one sounds good toni - I recognise the bad one!
Evening boxtops, I had to read it twice! I'm sure it's a typo ;n) but it made us laugh.
I've spent the whole day on a training course aimed at medical types working with children looking at signs of abuse, a horrific gallery of inhumanity, what to do in anticipated and unanticipated child death and what the difference between child protection and child in need is.... Bit much for a mere PA really but stuff In unfortunately now need to know.

Best part was coming home to a hug and a glass of wine and general lovely things.
ooh China - I was involved a couple of years ago in organising a conference on Child Protection and Safeguarding - I sat in on one of the lectures, I wished I hadn't. I know it happens, I respect people who can stomach working in those fields, I couldn't do it.
Yes boxtops, it's her first and I'm almost as excited as her!
Best part of today, I bought a three stone diamond ring (reduced by £100) but I have to wait to have it resized.
Worst part I got caught in a downpour going to M&S, and later trying on three lovely summer dresses to find not one of them fit properly.
I can generally do it... I do all the medical reports and clinic letters/admin for our monthly sexual abuse clinic. It's harsh but I sort of detach from it and almost go in to 'well this is an interesting case' mode (it's the only way I know how, if I made it all personal I don't think I would last long). But every now and then a child discloses something in clinic (sometimes completely innocently but as an adult you know the thinking behind it) and it just turns your tummy. We obviously have a duty to report that sort of thing but somehow I just find quoting a child or explaining a scenario they may have acted out with dolls somehow so much worse than the entire examination and clinical reporting... sort of hits home more.

Any how..... Lets talk cute fluffy bunnies instead! ;0)
Worst - still queazy from giving myself a serious vomitting attack yesterday by watching a DVD on my laptop on a seriously swaying train. Never done it before - watched a DVD on a train that is - I've vomitted loads of times!!

Best - loads of things. Finished working on a seriosly complex document, took me all day, but felt great when I had mastered it.

Fed my youngest grandson some toast at lunchtime while he sat on my knee and smiled at me - the best feeling ever.

Took my youngest daughter to get her (rather old) car's first MOT - she was stressing about a major repair bill she couldn;t pay - and it passed, no problem!
oh China, does this mean next time there's a Baby P your name will be printed in the tabloids - PA failed to spot abuse? I hope not, there's enough scapegoating already.

Best... nothing really, went to see the Fakes exhibition at the National Gallery, very interesting, but it wouldn't be the highlight of the day for any sane person. Worst: ongoing attempts to arrange a referral through my GP, whose receptionists don't have a clue. A week so far and they've got nowhere. Bah.

Sorry for abandoning you, guys - phonecall !!

China... Bobjugs had a similar thing on his course with the child abuse, etc. He found it very harrowing from what I remember.
Nah, I'm just the dogsbody doing the paperwork, it the two docs and the nurse I work for that do the important stuff bless 'em. What's the fakes exhibition?
this is the Fakes

It's more about science than art - the ways of determining a painting is or isn't a fake. tbh, you can't believe some of these paintings were ever thought to be genuine - there's a goddess who looks like a drunk and you just *know* she can't be a Botticelli, even with my extremely limited art appreciation.

Top one of the two here:

I went to see that jno, very interesting.
actually, you look more like a Botticelli than that painting does, CuteToni.
