I painted my shutters yesterday and I've noticed there are blisters on some places today. This didn't happen when I did the other sides last year. What can be the cause? I didn't sand the shutters down to the wood (like I did last year) as the paint was still good, I just lightly sanded them. Hope someone can help. I do a lot of painting and this is a first for me.

What are shutters?
Ma petite Coccinelle .............. sounds like you have a few spots of oil or grease or other miscellaneous grime on them. That's all I can think of. Give the blisters a good seeing-to ......... remember to feather out the edges .......... and try again ........ maybe some stain blocker to make sure?

Thanks Monsieur le builder! I probably didn't sand them down enough to get rid of any grease marks. So it's out with the sander again this afternoon...
carlton; shutters are what we have at the windows to prevent burglars getting in or hot sun pouring through them.
Apart from sanding did you use Sugar Soap ? That removes grease as well as breaking down the surface of the old gloss paint.

No I didn't modeller which really I should have, as I was only lightly sanding them. Anyway, today I'm sanding them down and will do a proper job. My father used to always say; don't cut corners, if a job's worth doing it's worth doing well. How right he was.
