But in the early and middle parts of the period all the important ones were. The big work of this period was John Locke's Essay Conerning Human Understanding. Towards the end of the period however, Immanuel Kant's very important work Critique of Pure Reason showed the limits of empiricism.
I'm not sure about the rest of your question. Most philosophers of the middle ages were Christian philosophers. And the most important thinker of the Romantic era was Jean-Jacques Rousseau. Solipsism was prominent in this period, so maybe that's what your teacher is looking for. But Idealism was also prominent, particularly in Germany.
