If DNA evidence showed Crippen verdict and execution to be unsafe, should there be a posthumous review and perhaps pardon?

On one hand i would say no as it would be a complete waste of taxpayers money but I could imagine it might be of comfort for any descendents.
There is a strong argument that neither Dr Crippen nor anyone else killed his wife........
(can't think where I've recently read about just that case........).
I watched a program on the one of the Sky Documentary channels just this last week, can't remember which channel, about the Crippen case and they made a very convincing case that all the evidence against Crippen was seriously flawed, not only that but they also cast serious doubts about if his wife actually died. One of the experts commented that if the case was being dealt with today it would be doubtful if it would even go to court, let alone result in a guilty verdict.Because of the new evidence that came to light as a result of this program his American decendants are now campaigning for a full pardon. If you've got Sky check it out as it will probably be repeated sometime soon
It seems the popular thing to do to scream that lots of people hung for murder were innocent. James Hanratty was a good example - his family and a bunch of leftie Guardian reading supporters protested his innocence long and loudly.
They sharpish shut up when recent DNA evidence proved beyond all doubt that he was guilty.
What good would a pardon be to a dead man?
What's that old saying?

Better that 10 innocent men die than one guilty man goes free?

Hmmm, that doesn't sound right.....

There are constant calls for apologies to be made to the descendants of the victims of great injustices in the past.........sometimes occuring hundreds of years ago. So I wondered if this should be extended to pardoning those who were innocent mr-r.
Mcmouse would is descendants be compensated if he was found to be innocent?
On the program I saw, the various family mambers they talked to just seemed to want his name cleared and and to be allowed to reclaim his body for reburial in the family plot in America, however if he was pardoned that might open a whole can of worms regarding claims
