Weights or aerobics? or a combination of both? and you say you go every other day, but for how long?
Do you check your rersting heart rate? has that come down? What were you like before? very unfit? or just a bit? that will effect the speed at which you improve, etc etc, there are so many variables!
I found that when I started out going to the gym I didn't really notice anything myself but others would say they could see it. I didn't know if they were just being polite or honest.
My advice is to take photo's of yourself every couple of weeks or so from different angles and then compare them over, if you are doing things right you will see a differencefor yourself. If not, ask someone at the gym for some advice perhaps hire a personal trainer for a couple of weeks.
Good luck and stick with it.
