when i applied for my iva natwest closed my account.
I opened a basic account with halifax (3 months ago). Had a letter sayng, natwest had £830 to pay me into my new account and could i call them. They took details account number ect and told me they would pay me by bacs payment when paperwork was processed.
Well that call was last wednesday, i was told the funds would be in friday. I called friday when the funds were not in and were told they would be in monday.
Surprise surprise there were not in monday either!!!! .
When i called monday i twas told they had no record of my call wednesday and couldnt be exact when funds would be payed to me ...
1.... they have to be fair to everyone in terms of giving out payments
2..... they hadnt recieved paperwork from relevant department
3.....they cant give me an exact date of payment
i feel my hands are tied any advice please TIA xx

I would go down to the back and speak to someone. If that doesn't work speak to their supervisor and so on until you at least get a confirmed date and a name.
I had trouble with Barclays a couple of years ago they took out £300+ to pay a payment not authorised on my account. It took me about 2 and a half months to get it back and they had the cheek to keep charging me overdraft fees etc... Needless to say I got my money finally after making time to go to the bank (phone service is shocking to say the least) and they refunded all charges because I threatened to close my account. Unfortunately your account is already closed but I would still go in and demand it be dealt with.
