Why do we need begging programmes like Children In Need, Comic Relief etc! when Bono's Rock Band U2 have earned £84 million pounds last year making them the highest paid musicians in the world(according to reports] As Bono is good at lecturing us about the poor and needy will he give a big donation save all the pensioners and kids forking out pocket money and donations!

Because most people like to do their bit, this is a way that every 50p donation can be made to count.
Not everyone can afford to give regular donations to charity, but people like Bono can afford to put their own time and money into organising these massive high-publicity events.
Bono personally donates a huge amount to humanitarian work - did you check this before you posted? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bono

I'm not saying he should give all his money away he is entitled to it and can do what he wants with it but he does go on and on about the poor and needy, he will never spend his fortune in a lifetime We are all aware of what goes on in the world and what people need, the programmes highlighting it spend a fortune on presenters!
